Downtown Phoenix's first off-leash dog park is now officially open to the public!! The fenced-in doggy playground is located in the northeast corner of Steele Indian School Park.
Welcome to the fundraising web site for Steele Indian School Park’s off-leash dog park. Here you will find information about the dog park project, and ways to contribute to the construction of the park. You also will have the means to e-mail your friends and solicit contributions for the park.
When I started working with city staff to bring a dog park to downtown Phoenix, I never imagined how well-received the idea would be. I just knew that my own dogs, Molly and Jake, would enjoy the chance to spend time running freely with other dogs.
But in phone calls and e-mails, a number of you expressed your desire to make a downtown park a reality. In our urban areas, pets are too often left without places to roam. The dog park at Steele Indian School Park will provide pets and their owners the perfect opportunity to off-leash fun with friends.
Thank you for your support of our fundraising efforts. I know that if we work together, our dogs will have a home in downtown Phoenix soon.
Sincerely,
Tom SimplotCouncilman, District 4
